Choosing video, audio, or MP3
Understand Thunder quality choices and get the right result without unnecessary conversion.
The right format depends on where you plan to use the file.
Ready-to-play video
Choose regular video when the file should open immediately in most players. Thunder can merge video and audio streams with FFmpeg when needed.
Source audio
Audio without MP3 preserves the source format. It is a good choice for later editing or when you want to avoid an extra conversion.
MP3
MP3 is useful for broad compatibility with devices and music apps. Conversion takes additional time and cannot improve the source quality.
A specific quality
Resolution is not the only signal. Check codec, FPS, bitrate, and whether audio is included. If you are unsure, start with Auto or Best.
